Terri Brooks
Featured Artist for March and April

The art exhibit at the library for March and April features the watercolors and pastels of Terri Brooks. Brooks taught art for 31 years in the Conway School District and has lived in Freedom for most of her adult life. She likes to paint a variety of subjects, always emphasizing light. “I am most fascinated by the way light not only illuminates the subject, but the shape of the shadows it creates, its reflective qualities and the way it sparkles.” The work shown here is an assortment of the artist’s favorites. The only one not for sale is a painting of her beloved Owen, the large Newfoundland dog she and her husband Chuck were often seen with out walking, pulling his cart and swimming in Loon Lake. Owen passed away this fall, but among Brooks’ favorite pieces is this one of Owen shaking off after a swim.
Museum Passes Available
Thanks to the Friends of the Library, we have passes to area museums and attractions. Although some of them are closed for the season, two are open year-round: The Portland Museum of Art and Remick Country Doctor Museum and Farm. Borrow our pass to visit for free! For more information, click here.
Downloadable Titles Now Show in Library's Catalog!
When you click on Search Catalog / Log In to Patron Account on the library's main page, you will see not only what the library has within its four walls, but also the audiobooks and eBooks available to patrons on the NH Downloadables site. These titles will show up near the bottom of the search results and be labeled either OverDrive Audiobook or OverDrive eBook. When you click on a title, you will be prompted to log in to your patron account if you're not already. Then click on "Download This Title" and you will be taken directly to that item on the downloadables site (you'll be logged in already!) and you can check it out or place a hold on it right then and there. Try it out! Contact the library at (603) 539-5176 if you need help or have questions.
