Title: Winter Film Series: The Guilty
Contact: Elizabeth Rhymer, 6035395176
Location: Freedom Public Library
Description: The Winter Film Series consists of six films shown in January, February and March on Sunday afternoons at 4:00. Following each movie, we offer a simple soup and bread supper, also free, for anyone who would like to stay for a meal and a chance to talk about the film. The library has a signup sheet for volunteers to bring soup, bread and dessert.

The Guilty: Asger Holm, a Danish policeman, demoted to work in a 911 Call Center, reveals through bits of conversation that he’s embroiled in a controversy in his job and also has an unhappy personal situation. He is an unlikeable sort, abrasive and judgmental to his troubled callers. Soon there comes a serious call that he decides not to refer to another department, but to take charge of himself. Iben has been abducted by her husband and is calling from a car speeding north on the highway. Asger helps the terrified victim hold things together and we learn the horrifying details of Iben’s predicament, and also about the incident that has caused Asger’s troubles. Through clever dialogue and sound effects this aural nail biter will keep your heart pounding as you imagine what is happening outside the confines of the Call Center. The star, Jakob Cedergren, carries it all in taut close-ups as the tension builds.
